Cornhole Tournament
A Cornhole Tournament is scheduled for Saturday, June 16, 2018 at Ed Good Park in Stanley. Registration begins at 9:00 a.m.; bags fly at 9:30 a.m. The cost is $25 per team. For more information, contact the Department.
Jr. Golf Clinic
The Jr. Golf Clinic is scheduled for June 18-21, 2018 at Luray Caverns Country Club, from 9:00 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. The fee is $50 for ages 8-14. The clinic will include three days of detailed instruction and a tournament on day four. Instruction includes, but is limited to, the proper grip, stance alignment, course management, fundamental rules, and a short game. Registration will be accepted until June 14, 2018. Golf equipment is suggested, but not required.
Bullpup Basketball Camp
The 2nd annual Bullpup Basketball Camp is scheduled for June 25-28, 2018, at Luray High School. The boys program will run from 9:00 a.m.to 12:00 noon. The girls program will run from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. The program is for ages 7-13. The price is $35 per child. All proceeds will go to the Luray High School Girls Basketball Program.
This elite camp will provide youth the opportunity to learn the basic fundamentals of basketball, work on the individual skills, and gain knowledge of the game. They will be coached by players from the Luray High School boys and girls basketball programs as well as the high school coaches. Three pillars of the program's philosophy will also be built into each day: humility, passion and servanthood. Every participant will receive a free t-shirt. All skill levels are welcome.

Summer Soccer Camp
The Department is offering a Summer Soccer Camp from July 30, 2018 to August 3, 2018 for rising 3rd graders to 9th grade. The camp is $25 per child and will run from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. daily, at Luray High School. The camp will provide youth with the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of soccer, work on their individual skills, and gain knowledge of the game. The camp will be led by JMU Men's Head Coach Tom Foley and players will be coached by JMU staff and players. Every participant will receive a free t-shirt. All skill levels are welcome.

Golf Tournament - $100 Cup Challenge
The annual golf tournament will be held on Saturday, July 21, 2018 at Luray Caverns Country Club. The cost is $300 per foursome. Everyone is eligible to win $100 per hold. The entry fee includes: green fees, cart, door prizes, drinks, and a luncheon. For more information or to enter a team, contact Tony Painter at 540-743-1180.
Heart & Sole and Family Walking Program
The purpose of this program is to promote good family health habits. The program will run from April - October and the cost is free. You must walk at least 30 miles each month, complete a tally sheet and turn it into the Recreation Department by the 5th of the following month to be eligible for the drawing. Anyone who meet the requirements will be entered in a drawing for that month's prize. If you walk with a family member for at least 30 miles your name will be entered in the drawing twice.
